OUR TEAM

MANAGEMENT

Janice - CEO & Founder

Thanks for taking the time to check us out! My name is Janice and I am the founder of Care FNQ. I grew up in Adelaide and am a Mum of three now adult boys and have three beautiful grandchildren. I spent 13 years as a Correctional Officer; eventually moving into Home Detention, Probation and Parole.

Deciding in 2009 to leave corrections, I completed my Certificate III in Aged Care and commenced working in nursing homes in Adelaide. I was lucky enough to move into disability about a year later as a team leader in a SIL’s home. Completing my Certificate IV in Disability several years ago, I have in my working life gained experience in all areas of support—as a correctional officer and then as a support worker, moving into management roles within disability and aged care. I have been able to work with some fantastic clients enabling me to learn hands on a lot about what is needed to successfully see my clients achieve their dreams and goals. This is how running my own business supporting those in need, became a dream of mine.

So after moving to Cairns in 2013, my family and I started our first branch of Care FNQ in 2020 with the goal of establishing ourselves across Australia. Now that we have been successful for a number of years, we are confident, come what may. I made a promise to myself when we started the business that no matter what, if we cannot help someone, I will find someone who can so that everyone gets the support they need. I believe we can all work together to ensure the correct supports are being provided. Ensuring everyone is given the right to have choice and control, while maintaining their right to dignity of risk, ensuring this is fundamental in all areas of a person’s life.

Anthony - General Manager

My name is Anthony, and i am the General Manager of Supportive Care Australia.  As one of the three sons of Janice the CEO and founder, i was also born and raised in Adelaide.

When we started our first branch of Supportive Care Australia in 2020  in Cairns QLD, Called Care FNQ, it was my first experience to the industry, that i now love. My background was in Hospitality Management, Specifically Hotel and Area Management.

When we first started the company i was the man with many hats, fully immersing myself in the industry whilst building the business administration requirements, i also worked as a support worker and Case Manager, until a time when we had expanded to the point that my focus was required for administrative /operational management, although i still jump at the opportunity to go on supports every now and then.

Because I stand by our values and believe no one should be without the support they need. No one should have to do it hard and feel alone.

having seen so many issues that everyday people face. Therefore, it is important to me to establish good communication and relationships with everyone, regardless of barriers they may have.

Suanne - Service Coordinator

Hello! My name is Suanne, and I’m proud to call Adelaide home. I’m a devoted mum to five adult children—two sons and three daughters—and a very lucky grandmother to nine beautiful grandchildren.

My journey in the care sector began after raising my family, when I completed my Certificate III in Aged Care in 2012. I spent two rewarding years working in a nursing home before transitioning into the disability sector in 2014. After six months as a Support Worker in a SIL house, I was offered a Team Leader role, which I held for seven years.

In a new chapter of my life, I moved to Cairns, Queensland, where I worked in the rostering team of a disability organisation. I returned to Adelaide in 2021, resumed frontline support work, and was once again promoted to Team Leader after just one year.

In 2024, I joined Supportive Care Australia as a Service Coordinator. I’m passionate about empowering clients to live independently, make their own choices, and achieve their goals. My hands-on experience over the years has taught me that person-centred support, consistency, and genuine care make all the difference.

It’s a privilege to be part of each client’s journey—and to continue learning from them every day.
